Product Details
The Hygiene Sling is a specialized patient lift sling designed to support safe and efficient toileting transfers while allowing easy access for clothing removal and personal care tasks. Its open-access design enables caregivers to assist with hygiene routines without unnecessary repositioning, helping streamline daily care while maintaining user dignity and comfort.
At Independent Living Superstore, we prioritize solutions that reduce caregiver strain and simplify essential routines. This hygiene sling is selected for its practical design, targeted support, and comfort-focused padding in key contact areas.
Best For
- Toileting and hygiene-related transfers
- Users who can maintain some upper body stability
- Situations requiring quick clothing removal and repositioning
- Care environments where efficiency and accessibility are critical
- Individuals needing added comfort in underarm and leg support areas
How to Choose Your Size
This sling is sized primarily by patient body weight. Start with the weight ranges below, then use height and build to fine-tune your choice.
| Size | Patient Weight Range |
|---|---|
| Small | 75 – 150 lbs |
| Medium | 120 – 200 lbs |
| Large | 180 – 300 lbs |
| X-Large | 275 – 450 lbs |
| XX-Large | 430 – 615 lbs |
Between sizes? The ranges overlap on purpose. If the user is tall or has a long torso, size up so the back support sits properly without riding up. If the user is petite or slight for their weight, size down. Accurate sizing matters even more with a hygiene sling than with a full-body sling: because of the open-seat design, a snug, correctly fitted sling is essential for secure support during transfers.
Checking the fit: With the user positioned in the sling, the back support should sit comfortably below the underarms without digging in, and the leg sections should cradle the thighs securely without cutting in. The user should feel firmly supported — not loose — before any lift begins.
Match the Sling to Your Lift
The safe working load of your transfer setup is always the lower of your lift’s rating and your sling’s rating. This hygiene sling is designed for Med-Mizer’s Med-Riser patient lifts — before ordering, confirm which model you own:
- Med-Riser MR600: pairs with Small through XX-Large for users up to the lift’s 600 lb capacity.
- Med-Riser 450 (folding lift): pairs with Small through X-Large. The lift’s 450 lb capacity means the XX-Large sling is not appropriate for this lift.
Not sure which size to order? Call us at (844) 795-2930 before you buy. For hygiene reasons, slings can be difficult to return once opened — a two-minute conversation ensures you get the right size the first time.
Maneuverability / Placement
The compact, open-access design allows caregivers to position the sling quickly and efficiently, reducing the time and effort required for toileting transfers. Its structure supports smooth transitions between beds, wheelchairs, and commodes while maintaining accessibility throughout the process.
Support / Performance
This sling is designed to provide targeted support rather than full-body immersion, making it most appropriate for users who have some level of upper body control. The configuration allows for stable lifting while leaving key areas accessible for hygiene tasks.
Comfort / Usability
Padded foam material under the arms enhances comfort during lifting, while quilted cushioning in the leg sections helps reduce pressure during transfers. The fabric is well-suited for individuals with sensitive skin, offering a softer contact surface compared to standard sling materials.
Design & Convenience
The open-seat design is engineered specifically for toileting use, allowing caregivers to assist without fully removing the sling. This reduces transfer complexity and supports more efficient daily care routines. The lightweight construction also makes handling and repositioning easier for caregivers.

Warranty
Patient lift slings are typically covered by a manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Coverage may vary based on use and care conditions. Contact us for full warranty details prior to purchase.
Important Information
This sling is intended for use with compatible patient lift systems. Due to its open design, it is not suitable for users who require full head and trunk support — for those users, consider a highback sling instead. Confirm that the user’s weight does not exceed the rated capacity of either the sling or the lift. Always follow manufacturer instructions for proper use and ensure caregiver familiarity with safe lifting procedures. This product does not replace professional medical guidance.
