Joerns Bed Rails & Assist Handles – for EasyCare, WeCare and UltraCare XT Hospital Beds

Genuine Joerns assist devices for the Joerns EasyCare, WeCare, and UltraCare XT hospital beds. All rails and handles mount directly to the bed frame, meet hospital-bed entrapment guidelines when used with the matching Joerns bed, and finish in almond to match the frame. Choose the style that fits how the user gets in and out of bed—and check the compatibility chart, because the UltraCare XT uses different rail parts from the EasyCare and WeCare.

For EasyCare and WeCare beds
Half-Length Assist Rails (pair) – the most common homecare choice. Mounted at the head end of the bed, they give a solid hand-hold for sitting up and swinging legs out, without closing off the side of the bed.
SoftCare Padded Half-Length Assist Rails (pair) – the same half-length rail with a padded cover for users who bump against the rail or need a softer grip.
Assist Handle, 1-Position (each) – a short, quarter-length grab bar fixed in one position. The lightest-touch option for someone who just needs something to hold while turning or standing. Sold individually; order two for both sides.
Deluxe Assist Handle (each) – Joerns’ heavier-duty quarter-length handle with a larger grip area. Sold individually.
Full-Length Rails (pair) – run the full length of the sleep surface. WeCare beds only. Requires the Full-Length Rail Mount Kit.
Full-Length Rail Mount Kit – the mounting hardware required to attach Full-Length Rails to a WeCare bed. Order one kit per pair of rails.

For UltraCare XT beds
UltraCare XT Half-Length Assist Rails (pair) – the XT version of the half-length rail; same purpose, different mount.
UltraCare XT Deluxe Assist Handle (each) – heavier-duty quarter-length handle for the XT frame. Sold individually.
UltraCare XT Side-Stop Kit (pair) – required on the UltraCare XT if you are not fitting side rails. The XT frame ships with foot-end stops only; these side stops keep the mattress centered on the deck. Rails perform the same job, so you need one or the other.

Fits all three beds
Assist Handle, 2-Position (each) – a quarter-length grab bar that can be set to two positions along the frame. The one handle that fits EasyCare, WeCare, and UltraCare XT. Sold individually.

Good to know
Rails are not included with the bed frame and are selected separately.
Joerns recommends ordering rails at the same time as the bed so the correct mounting hardware ships together.
Half-length rails also hold the mattress in place, which is why they are a good pairing for the WeCare Base Model (which does not include corner mattress stops) and why the UltraCare XT needs either rails or the side-stop kit.

Which rails fit which Joerns bed?

Half-length, SoftCare, and the 1-position and deluxe handles fit the EasyCare and WeCare. Full-length rails fit the WeCare only. The UltraCare XT uses its own half-length rails, deluxe handle, and side-stop kit. The 2-position assist handle fits all three.

Are rails included with the bed?

No. Joerns beds ship as a frame with pendant, and rails are chosen separately. Order them with the bed so the mounting hardware ships together.

What is the difference between half-length rails and assist handles?

Why does the UltraCare XT need a side-stop kit?
